An Exciting Morning at Sea!

We kicked off the day full of optimism. The temperatures were pleasantly mild, even though southern winds kept picking up as the day went on.

With high spirits and plenty of enthusiasm, we set out to sea, ready to meet our beloved cetaceans and share our passion and knowledge with everyone on board.

Southeast of Hjalteyri, we spotted our first humpback whale, not just one, but a small group of three, happily feeding together. Every now and then, we witness these magical moments when, usually solitary whales, come together to enjoy what seems like a brief, friendly gathering.

As we continued our journey northeast, two more humpbacks appeared, swimming quite close to each other. Then, during a calm moment, the ocean exploded into action, a full-body breach right in front of us, followed by a massive splash! What an unforgettable sight! With hearts full and our guests a little wetter than before, we turned back toward the harbor, but not without a quick stop at our famous hot water waterfall.

During our 17:00 tour, we met with a humpback whale South East of Hjalteyri. The wind had calmed down a bit during the first part of the journey, but was still a bit strong further north. The whale was feeding actively and we got to enjoy many times before leaving it to its dinner.
