Good afternoon everyone reading this, we hope you are having some cozy weekend plans. If not, the whales have been fantastic this week here in Eyjafjordur, a great time to join us! We started the morning with calm weather. The wind picked up slowly. We encountered the first whale south of the green bouey and quickly saw the second one. They were both Humpback whales, and a few blows were visible at the horizon. After observing them for a bit, we headed next to Hjalteyri where 3 Humpback whales were feeding. One humpback whale started slapping its tales before we started to leave and then started to breach a lot of times.
In the afternoon, the wind and the swell picked up a bit, but we got to see around 5-6 Humpback whales feeding at different spots in the fjord. We turned around at Hjalteyri after enjoying many sightings!
