It’s a clear and sunny day that is accompanied by lots and lots of southerly wind.
Very fortunately, one Humpback whale decided to come all the way into Pollurinn, therefore we only sailed a minute to see him. We then headed north and saw 2 more whales close to Akureyri. We were even able to see a few Northern bottlenose whale from a distance, a rare encounter. They have been hanging around the fjord for a few days now.
In the afternoon, we found the first Humpback close to Svalbardseyri. We then headed to the green bouey where another Humpback whale was actively feeding. We tried to go more North but the wind picked up and waves started to appear so we turned around to spend a bit of time with these whales before coming back to the harbor.
