The weather could not make up it’s mind today and we had a mix of sun and rain throughout the whole day. The wind also picked up in the afternoon. But it was clear that the whales did not mind the weather.
In the morning tour we came across several small pods of Harbour Porpoises and four Humpback Whales where feeding just outside Dalvik. One of the Humpback Whales was very acrobatic doing lunge feedings, rolling over showing its big belly and even appeared to do a head stand in the water, waving its big fluke to us. Just as we were leaving the area we also got a glimpse of a Minke Whale.
After lunch only one Humpback Whale was left and it was busy feeding west of Hrisey. It was going for multiply deep dive showing us a beautiful display of its fluke every time. For the afternoon tour it had moved south of Hrisey and was lunge feeding several times and again rolling over showing its belly.
