Today even though we had a very cold wind making our fingers and toes freeze over, we had the most calm fjord and sunny skies. As the sun was shinning on the snowy mountains we made our way towards the town of Hjalteyri, where we had seen a couple of blows in the distance only to find not 2 but 3 Humpback whales feeding and surfacing very often around us.

And we were delighted by the presence of our know whales Piccolo, Areta frankfin and Diso. The tree of them feeding and swimming frequently so we didn’t had to wait even 2 minutes for them to resurface after a deep dive.

To the Eastern side of the fjord we sighted yet another Humpback whale so after a while with these three humpies we made our way to N Svalbarðsayri to spend some of our time with the 4th Humpback whale.
