Today we went out on a whale watching tour at 1 o’clock in pleasant conditions; not too much wind and a dry sky. This time we did not have to search for long before we spotted our first blow. The humpback whales had moved closer to Akureyri this time so that we did not even have to sail as far as Hjalteyri. Overall we had the pleasure to watch a total of 5 humpback whales mainly resting. They were split up in 2 pairs and one single whale so we decided to divide our time between the pairs. Coming closer we could see that it were ‘King Louis’, ‘Cosmos’,’Porthos’ and ‘Samsung’. Great to see so many well-known individuals still around in the fjord. What a nice afternoon here up north in Eyjafjördur.
