What a spectacular day to be out on the fjord, the sea was fairly calm and it wasn't too chilly despite the beautiful snow on the mountains. After only a short sail the first blows were spotted in the near distance. Once closer we were able to watch this animal surface many times before it headed for a deeper dive. After a short journey across the fjord we were able to watch another two individuals surfacing brilliantly close. These animals were taking rather long dives but another two animals were spotted in the distance which we were able to watch while we waited. As the wind began to pick up the whales had to come much higher out of the water to be clear of the surf to breathe, which gave us a fantastic view of their wonderfully large bodies.
