Today we sailed out from Akureyri on a cloudy morning but a rater flat fjord. The wind from the north was strong and cold and the snow was also falling on us intermittently. Out first sighting was a Humpback whale North of Hjalteyri, it was very calmly swimming south. After a while we saw in the distance a 2nd Humpback whale South of Hjalteyri who started tail throwing. During the afternoon tours the snow persisted on and off. From the rib boat it took us no time to meet up with the classic tour a bit North of the green buoy and join them in watching Propi, a humpback whale, from a safe distance. When the classic tour left, we were lucky enough to see 2 other humpback whale joining the feast. They were surfacing often, with one of them coming regularly for one breath before diving again.
