What a great day for whale watching today. But technically anything would have been fun to do in this gorgeous weather. No clouds and glassy flat sea. Can’t wish for more. Actually wish for whales. And guess what, we didn’t get disappointed on that.
North of Hjalteyri we found a mix of 2 Humpback Whales, 3 Minke Whales and heaps of Harbour Porpoises all in the same area. No matter where you looked, you would have seen some wildlife either in the sea or the air.
During our afternoon tours the sun and the glassy fjord persisted. And to the amazing morning sightings some northern gannets joined the party during the afternoon as well. As for our beloved cetaceans, during the afternoon we encounter a gain a mix of 2 Minke whales and 1 Humpback whale in the area of Rauðavík.
