Today, we departed from a partially cloudy Akureyri to find a completely windless and mirror-like fjord ahead of us. Around Hjalteyri, we found a very lovely Humpback whale. And we observed it surface very gracefully. But since before today, we had two Humpbacks around, we decided to venture east of the fjord in search of the second. Only to find 2 Orcas next to the Green buoy. Everyone was over the moon with excitement since Orca sightings in our fjord are rare. However, we could quickly observe it was the two same Orcas we already spotted 2 days ago. But with this, we get reminded how unpredictable wild animals are and how they can always surprise us.
