It seems here in Eyjafjörður the temperatures keep plummeting, however we all know the whales don’t mind the weather. Today, an amazingly flat fjord was greeting us with only the smallest breeze. And just there to impress us were our favourite guys: Rydikins and Piccolito. South of Svalbarðseyri, these two humpback whales are our local celebrities these days. We know we can count on them to be waiting for us, and since they are still wild animals, they always display an impressive array of behaviours. Today we had some deep feeding as well as some very close surfaces from them. A pleasure as always.
