Today we departed from Akureyri with strong Southern wind, accompanied by a choppy Fjord. However, the sightings ended up being delightful as ever. Before Svalbarðseyri’s light house we spotted a very sneaky Mine whale, as well as some cute Harbour porpoises feeding under a flock of Black-legged kittiwakes.
However, in the distance we started spotting a wide display of blows, so we continued our journey North. By the area of the green buoy there were 3 Humpback whales surfacing at different times. And spread wide North of the green Buoy there were 6 more Humpback whales. And two of them where swimming as a tandem.
We did not have time to rest in between so many humpies around us.
