As winter approaches the temperatures are starting to drop, but not our spirits. Because we know the whales don’t mind the weather. This morning strong South wind greeted us, but the fjord was only a little choppy.
And indeed the fjord was bursting with life! In the area north of Svalbarðseyri, Trektinni, we found 3 Humpback whales swimming by themselves but in close proximity. But that was not all because just South of Hjalteyri we found 6 more Humpback whales, and two of them, the biggest ones were swimming in a tandem.
So today was cold, but we saw up to 9 Humpback whales!
