Good day everyone!

Today we found our boat covered with snow, but the rain came in and cleared the sceneries a bit. It was not much, we could still enjoy being outside without being too wet. The wind was low in Akureyri and picked up on our way North.

Our guide spotted the blow shortly after departure, North of Svarbaldseyri. It was white fang, a Humpback whale that is often seen in our fjord these days. All of a sudden, it breached! What an amazing sighting! We spent some time watching it, but it was moving quite a lot, so instead of chasing it, we decided to try our luck more North before the end of our tour. Unfortunately, we did not find any other whale further North, but we were able to observe white fang on our way back.

This afternoon the weather picked up with moderate to strong northern wind, making spotting conditions surely more challenging. But our experienced team found a Humpback Whale south of Strytan. They got very close on the express boat and made they passengers tear up. Beautiful success in these harder conditions that October can bring.
