Today, cloudy skies and a temperature of -6 degrees Celsius greeted us in the morning. However, as the wind slightly picked up, it took some of the louds away. The fjord was mostly flat, allowing us to spot our lovely whales quite quickly. Just North of the Fishing Harbour, we spotted a trio of companions: 3 humpback whales, Dobby, Piccolo, and Darcy. Swimming synchronised. And we stayed with them until more Humpback whales started to swim south from their initial location towards us. When Darcy decided to leave its companions and join another group of 2 Humpback whales (Ryder and Elise). So we were able to witness how fast Humpback whale associations can change. And we finally saw as well 1 more solitary Humpback swimming by itself in the same area.
A crazy total of 6 Humpback whales.
