Today we sailed out of Akureyri on the calmest of mornings. No wind, no waves. Braking through the thin ice on the fjord surface. Our first sighting was of a Harbour Seal SW of Svalbarðseyri. But it wasn’t until Bakkagerði that we spotted our first Humpback whale. Piccolo was swimming very relaxed, not changing direction much, until we spotted a second Humpback whale. Just before heading back, we had a brief appearance of a third Humpback to our side.
