Winter is coming!

Sometimes it happens this fast from streets covered in autumn colours. We jumped into the first snow in the city this morning.

We departed from a snowy yet windless Akureyri into a slightly wavy Eyjafjörður. Indeed, the coldest day so far… But that didn’t stop us from finding whales!
On the way out we spotted a couple of Harbour Porpoises jumping and feeding. Then in Raudavik we were surrounded by 6 Humpback Whales. One of them popped up 2m from the boat and just slowly swam beside us. We truly got to see the whole whale and then go for a deep dive showing off it’s tail.
In the afternoon, the sea conditions were the same, a bit wavy further out north and very snowy. But we encountered the same whales as we did in the morning. One of them actually came right towards our front and went underneath the boat and popped up next to us and went straight for a dive. Leaving everyone speechless.
