One of the key parts of our work is observing code of conduct. Being stopped and maintaining a proper distance between us and the whales minimises disturbance and allows them to perform their necessary behaviours to prepare for migration. This makes it extra special when a whale comes and says hi as it has done so by its own choice. A beautiful Humpback observed feeding outside raudavik, on all morning tours today, did just this greeting the morning RHIB with a spy hop and body roll meters from the boat !! It doesn’t get better than that.
