What an unbelievable tour! Today, we sailed out in calm and sunny, but rather cold weather conditions.
On our way out, we spotted two Minke Whales, one was south of the green bouy, the second one was seen north of Hjalteyri.
North of Grenivík, we then encountered more than 20 Humpback Whales! This was incredible, we experienced many close encounters and we saw their blows in all directions! Some of them surfaced in groups of up to three individuals, while plenty of other Humpbacks were swimming alone, near and far.
The Humpback Whales were joined by a big pod of White-beaked Dolphins! We haven’t seen any dolphins on our tours in a while, so it was a very pleasant surprise when they suddenly just surfaced right by our side! They got very playful with our boat, were bow riding and we could even see them surface around some of the Humpback Whales, too!
It was a breathtaking tour and we could not have asked for more!
