Hello everyone! Today we sailed out in sunshine but with strong winds in the morning, the afternoon tours were less sunny, but the wind stayed throughout the day.
The whales of Eyjafjörður seemed to feel quite shy today as we unfortunately did not see any whales except from several pods of Harbor Porpoises during our morning and afternoon tours.
In the evening we sailed out very far and definitely got rewarded! Just before passing Hrólfssker, we encountered a pod of White-Beaked Dolphins, which surfaced out of nowhere right in front of our boat! Shortly after this, we also spotted a Humpback Whale! This particular whale resurfaced close to our boat several times and even stayed on the surface for a pretty long time when coming up for a breath. This behavior allowed us to have an extremely good look at this Humpback Whale.
What a great way to end the day!
