A wild, windy yet spectacular day in the fjord! It was windy and wavy but not extremely so. The wild weather did not deter either our passengers or the whales today as we had plenty of both! Our mornings tours had to sail quite far out, yet were rewarded with a fantastic show! First white-beaked dolphins were seen jumping and leaping about quite spectacularly may I add, then a few harbour porpoises popped up. The stars however, were most definitely the tree humpback whales which were travelling and surfacing together! Quite the rarity for this species. They surfaced just wonderfully many times and super close to the boat! coming up even higher than usual to clear their blowholes of water to breathe. Our afternoon departures followed in the same epic way with two humpbacks swimming together and the third a bit further away. More incredible white-beaked dolphins were seen on the way back and gave us the most delightful show and were jumping and leaping just meters from the boat. What a splashtastic day!
