What a day! This morning we didn’t have the greatest visibility, the weather in the fjord was getting worse the further we were going, rain and fog didn’t make it any easier to spot animals so it took us a bit longer to reach the sighting area but north of Hrólfsker we spotted a big pod of white-beaked dolphins and a sleeping Humpback whale! It’s always a big surprise for us to find these animals resting as we are in the middle of the feeding season and majority of the time they spend feeding. On the way back we passed by 2 more Humpback whales and on later tours we didn’t have to go far to find them again. In the afternoon we spent the tours outside Hauganes and south of Hrisey enjoying the company of a very relaxed humpack whale and lots of birdlife. The weather got a lot better later in the day. Being in the sea on days like this is just a pure pleasure!
