Today we had wonderful close encounters with a bunch of humpback whales. One of them was Aretha Frankfin, we saw this whale first on the day of the passing of Aretha Franklin, so our captain Örn suggested that we name this whale after her, as a tribute. Nothing but R.E.S.P.E.C.T. for both of them. Humpback whales also sing. They are know to have the most complex songs in the animal kingdom. Did you know that humpback whales have two blowholes? They are a direct connection to their lungs. They have an amazing capacity for holding their breath. They have been know to remain underwater for as long as 55 minutes. Quite impressive dont you think? want to meet Aretha in our beautiful fjord? come with us on our next tour.
