We had a beautiful cold and clear day here in Eyjafjörður. We sailed out on our boat Hólmasól at 11 o‘clock. The sea condition was good and the weather was nice, though it was really cold. The ship was frozen in the harbour but luckily we had a ship sailing infront of us breaking the ice so we could sail out in our adventure.

We had to sail through the fjord all the way to Hrólfssker to find our first cetaceans. There we encountered four humpback whales in two different groups. Two of them came to the surface for about 20 minutes waving us with their flippers and giving us a really nice show. With them we saw about ten dolphins that swam with the whales. It was quite the experience to look at. The dolphins were breaching and playing with the humpbacks. A long, cold and successfull day here in Eyjafjörður.
