Express Whales, Eyjafjord & Akureyri

Our specially modified RIB boats allow you to get closer to the whales and wildlife than any other boat can offer. They are small and fast boats that get you to the viewing area quickly and cover a larger area as we search for the wildlife. This means a bigger chance of spotting whales, dolphins and bird life with out disturbing any natural behaviour. With only 12 passengers per boat, you are guaranteed a more intimate, up close and personal experience than on the classic tour.

The views from the boat, the closeness to the elements and the ocean, the personal contact the boats offer to the whales and wild life is with out parallel on whale watching tours. There is no indoor area and there are no toilets on board, there is just you with a small group of people searching the seas for some of the most magnificent animals on the planet. When you find them, you will understand why we recommend this tour to the adventurous, the whale lovers and the passionate photographers.

Please note that the tour may not be suitable for seniors (65+), pregnant women or those with a history of heart- or back problems. You need to be at least 10 yrs. old, able to stand comfortably in your seat (min. 140 cm.) and fit into our overalls to participate (max. size XXXL).

This tour is subject to weather and good sailing conditions and therefore it could get cancelled on short notice. In this case we will contact you with as much notice as possible and offer you to re-book or get a full refund. 

All sea tours and whale watching / wildlife  trips are undertaken at the responsibility of its participants. Whale Watching Akureyri does not assume any responsibility for accidents which are caused by its customers or can be traced to their own actions. Participants may have to sign a waiver before undertaking our trips stating that they realize that all outdoor activities carry an inherit risk that they assume by booking said activity. 

Although our success rate is high, the cetacean abundance is unpredictable and varies with the food availability of our shores. In case no whales or dolphins make an appearance on the tour, we will offer you a complimentary ticket to try again on the CLASSIC tour in Akureyri or Reykjavík within 2 years.
