Whale hello there! We started this really sunny Monday sailing out form Akureyri as usual. But finding the most amazing sunny day with only a light breeze from the North and super flat sea, ideal for spotting so cetaceans. And so we did, when we had our first sighting of Harbour porpoises jus after Svalbarðseri. After a wile we decided to keep sailing out into Eyjafjörður and encountered again some playful Harbour porpoises. And so once more we kept sailing and just past Hjalteyri we found a very big flock of feeding Arctic terns, and we even witnessed a bird chase between a Pomarine skua and some poor Arctic tern. After that we started making our way back to Akureyri but just before Svalbarðseri… BAM…. A very seanky Minke whale just surfaced barely 20m from our vessel. So after a super nice encounter with this minke, just when we decided to go back to Akureyri, just the cutest Harbour porpoises started popping mearly 5m from the boat. The nicest ending for the nicest summer day!
