Today we sailed out of Árskógssandur again since yesterday we saw that the whales were still very far out. After 45 minutes sailing we encountered our first humpback whale it was Jackson one of our all time favorite whales. When scanning around while Jackson was under for a deep dive we spotted around 8 different whales. Three of the humpback whales came together they were Aretha Frankfin, Tough Pella and Cascade. They were moving and diving together. Further in the distance we also spotted a whale named Ethan. When we were returning to Árskógssandur we saw splashes, they were made by the amazing white beaked dolphins. It was a group with around 15 animals of which at least three were juveniles. One of the juveniles was having the best time throwing itself out of the water and making the most spectacular jumps.
It was an amazing day with lots of humpback whales and a very acrobatic group of white beaked dolphins.
