Another cold and clear morning in Akureyri, with a particularly beautiful southern light illuminating the landscape and creating a breathtaking scenario. Today, the show started earlier than what we are used to. We were navigating for only 10 minutes when we encountered the first Humpback whale of the day. We found up to 4 more individuals in the area, although the show was soon stolen by a huge pod of White-beaked dolphins. Upon our arrival, these extraordinary animals became hectic, and kept following us all around our travel. It was, without any doubts, the most enjoyable moment of the tour! On our way back to the harbour we encountered again our previous 4 Humpback whales. Somehow, we got the impression that the animals were slightly more active, maybe engaging in a sort of cooperative feeding. Amazing!
